who are we?
CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION
Sammen For Afrika (Together For Africa) is a non-profit organization working to give children and families in Africa safety, education, and a future.
Our main focus is Tanzania, where we work actively to create lasting, stable, and supportive environments for children.
We believe that sustainable development is built through partnership, local ownership, and long-term solutions – not temporary aid.
Our work is based on presence, trust, and genuine relationships.
Together with local leaders, teachers, and families, we develop projects that make a real difference – schools, orphanages, agricultural initiatives, and income-generating projects designed to stand on their own over time.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
Sammen for Afrika began with a personal encounter – a meeting with people, hope, and needs that could not be ignored.
Several of us have worked in Tanzania or visited, and it became quickly clear that for many children, every day is about more than fun and play – it’s about survival.
This experience sparked an engagement that grew from one family into a community of people who wanted to contribute – teachers, businesses, volunteers, and supporters coming together to create lasting change.

BUILDING A NEW ORPHANAGE
We are now working on building a new orphanage in the suburbs of Dar Es Salaam. Let's help the children together.
KNOWLEDGE
We act as network builders and knowledge transferers, this is an important area for getting out of poverty.
AGRICULTURE
Help for self-help! Give a sack of corn, and one can be full for a week. Learn how to grow corn, and you can be full for the rest of your life.
EDUCATION
In Africa, not everybody has the chance of going to school, but will instead be sent out to work. If they don't have parents, they often end up on the streets.
HOW MUCH SHOULD YOU GIVE?
This is a recurring question, but there is no one-size-fits-all answer, it’s entirely up to you and what you feel like giving.
Your support and donation, regardless of the amount, contribute to helping and improving the quality of life for many who truly need it in Africa.
As we are so fortunate that many young students also want to contribute, we have created a “Little Helper” version to become a regular donor. Here you can give from 25 kroner every month.
