who are we?

Let’s begin with one of the key people in our organization: Ronnie, and his story. This is one of the many stories that inspired us to start our non-profit organization.

Ronnie was born in Tanzania in 1990 and raised by his mother, who was alone. His father didn’t know about him until he was one year old. Since there there were no mobile phones at the time, reaching people across the globe was not easy. His mother tried to contact the father by sending letters. After many attempts, a letter finally reached him, and they made contact. Sadly, Ronnie’s mother became very sick with tuberculosis, and she realized that she might not survive. Together with the father, they decided that their son should move to Norway to live with him, so he wouldn’t be left alone if anything happened.

Tragically, his mother passed away soon after. But with the help of friends and a Norwegian family living in Tanzania, their son was still able to travel to Norway. There, he was welcomed by four new siblings, who were very excited to meet their new little brother from the other side of the world. He grew up in a loving and safe family, becoming the fifth child.

His journey to a new life was made possible by many people’s help—a type of help that not all children in similar situations are lucky enough to get. If it hadn’t been for these people, things might have been very different for him. The same family that helped him get to Norway later started an orphanage in Tanzania. They have worked hard to help many children and individuals in need. Their kindness inspired us to want to help others too.

In the picture are Ronnie Lubega and Leif Nordli, two Africa friends. Leif has worked for Norad and spent over 25 years in Africa.

CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION

Sammen For Afrika (Together For Africa) is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to helping people in Africa, especially focusing on orphaned children. We work hard to improve children’s chances of survival and ensure they grow up in safe and stable environments.

We have brought together a dedicated group of caring individuals who want to make a difference and help those facing tough and hopeless situations in Africa.

Many of us have experience in aid work, which is part of why we started our own organization. Being independent allows us to help in areas where larger organizations may not reach, and we can choose the best ways to make a positive impact.

Our mission is to do our best to support children and create a fairer and safer life for them. By working together and holding on to strong values, we can also collaborate with other similar organizations to achieve our common goals.

EDUCATION

In Africa, not everybody has the chance of going to school, but will instead be sent out to work. If they don't have parents, they often end up on the streets.

HOW MUCH SHOULD YOU GIVE?

This is a recurring question, but there is no one-size-fits-all answer, it’s entirely up to you and what you feel like giving.

Your support and donation, regardless of the amount, contribute to helping and improving the quality of life for many who truly need it in Africa.

As we are so fortunate that many young students also want to contribute, we have created a “Little Helper” version to become a regular donor. Here you can give from 28 kroner every month.

Every little donation helps, and we are all very grateful, no matter what you choose!

LET`S TAKE CARE OF THE CHILDREN TOGHETER

We have a desire to make a positive impact, and we hope to find more who share our vision.

Everyone in our organization shares a common goal, a cause close to our hearts that unites us all. We want to contribute and make a meaningful difference for those in vulnerable life situations in Africa!
